When recruiting for a new role, it is not unusual to want to find candidates with as much experience as humanly possible.
Not only does this provide employers with the reassurance that they have what it takes to complete a role, but it also serves as a solid indication that they will be able to make a smooth transition into their career move.
But this doesn’t stop recruiters from yielding a wealth of unrealistic expectations when it comes to candidate experience levels. And these heightened expectations were magnified in an article posted on online forum Reddit.
One LinkedIn user, whose name is blurred out in the Reddit post, recalled finding a job opening at a Fortune 500 firm for a ‘Big Data Analytics Lead’ role.
