Every year, new trends come and go on the recruitment scene; in order to stay on top of the game, recruiters need to keep up-to-date with upcoming and emerging trends.
Over the last two days, Olympia London hosted the Recruitment Agency Expo – a trade-only event dedicated to recruitment agencies – which allowed recruiters to discuss recruitment strategies, solutions and best practise to conquer the industry in future.
Recruitment Grapevine caught up with numerous recruiting professionals to find out which industry trends to keep an eye out for this year and how to go about them.
Persistent candidate shortages
More than half of UK employers looking to recruit for permanent roles are expected to face candidate shortages, according to research from the Recruitment and Employment Confederation’s (REC) JobsOutlook Report. Additionally, the proportion of employers expressing concern over the availability of agency workers rose to 72% last year, which was more than double the figure expressed earlier in 2018. These stats outline the persistence of the problem that poses a greater threat to recruiters going forwards.
