Half of workers feel their boss doesn't understand them

It's very frustrating to feel like someone isn't listening to you, or misunderstanding what you say - and it's even worse when this person is in charge of making decisions which affect your life and work.

Sadly, research from ADP (Automatic Data Processing) has revealed half of the UK’s workforce believes their bosses do not understand them, leading to a potential loss of motivation and disengagement.

The study, which surveyed over 2,000 workers across the UK, France, Germany, Italy and the Netherlands, found that 50% of UK employees feel their employers don’t understand them or their potential – higher than the European average of 46%.

However, UK and European employees are more likely to feel their direct reports understand them better, with 61% reporting that their managers know and support them and want to see them succeed.
