What can HR learn from Theresa May's Brexit nightmare?

You can’t have missed the headlines. The Daily Mail lead with “Have they lost the plot?” The Guardian front page header read “Resignations, a coup and a day of hostility. But May fights on.” The Times went with “Lonely May staggers on.”

All of these national newspapers were referencing a day of chaos for the Prime Minister. On Thursday, she lost Dominic Raab as Brexit Secretary and Esther McVey as Work and Pensions Secretary. Both were senior members of her cabinet. Both resigned in apparent protest at her Brexit plan.

Compounding this double whammy, it was reported that Michael Gove, incumbent Environment Secretary, turned down the chance to succeed Raab after being the newly-vacant role.

There were further resignations from junior ministers as well as public proclamations of unhappiness with May’s Brexit plan, unveiled in a 585-page document on Wednesday night, from other MPs.
