REVEALED: Half of UK employees without dedicated lunch space

Fifty-six per cent of UK office-based workers do not have dedicated lunch areas, research by interiors firm Furniture123 revealed. 

Thirty-four per cent of the 1,012 UK workers surveyed said that they were forced to eat lunch at their desks - employeebenefits.co.uk reports.

And that is not out of choice. Nearly half of the respondents said that they wanted to get out of the office for a stroll over their lunch break but 47% felt that there was nowhere sufficient to go - so they stayed cooped up inside their office.

Mark Kelly, Marketing Manager at Furniture123 said that this is important to ensure that staff have suitable facilities because happy workers are more productive. “This sentiment has been proven time and time again, and it’s one of the many reason why it’s so important to keep employees on side.”
