Insurance Broker loses ADHD discrimination case against employer

A man who claimed to have ADHD has lost a discrimination case against his employer because he may not be legally considered to have a disability - The Lancashire Telegraph reports.

ADHD, or attention deficit and hyperactivity disorder, is a developmental disorder which makes it difficult for sufferers to pay attention and control their behavior.

Anthony Hannon, who worked at Organic Insurance in One Cathedral Square, told a Manchester employment tribunal a specialist had diagnosed him with the condition, which meant he was "often misunderstood and branded stupid and dim."

He explained that noisy environments made it hard for him to concentrate, and he found it difficult to control his emotions.
