Aldi fights claims over 'ageist' recruitment practices

An Aldi supermarket set to open in Walton has countered accusations of running an ‘ageist’ recruitment process, Clacton and Frinton Gazette reports.

The claims follow allegations from an unsuccessful candidate who said he was told the company was looking for a “young and vibrant team”.

However, Aldi have slammed claims that this request was included in the advert’s wording and denied that it ever made an appearance on the website’s advert.

Initially, local residents took to social media to express concerns about the lack of new recruits which might suspend the opening of the Aldi store on Kirby Road.
