Woman fired over text for announcing pregnancy

A pregnant employee says she was fired via text because her maternity leave didn’t come at “a good time” and she neglected to disclose her pregnancy to her boss in the interview, CBSnews reports.

Kameisha Denton, from Washington, U.S., was formerly employed by the local brand of the sub sandwich chain Jersey Mike’s.

Denton recalled noticing that her name wasn’t scheduled on the rota for the coming months, so she sent a text message to her boss to investigate.

The message to her boss read: “Can I please get the updated schedule”.
