A Tesco worker was left “crying and really disappointed” after being given a final warning for using her staff discount to buy a colleague some washing powder.
The Liverpool Echo reports that Tracey Boardman, who has been working for the supermarket chain for 34 years, used her 10% saving card to buy the discounted powder for herself and someone who was working at the same time.

"Every member of staff gets 10% off,” her partner Peter Jones told the Echo. "Tracey was on her break when she bought three boxes of washing powder in two transactions in which she got two receipts, as one was for another member of staff who was in work. She never gave it a second thought as like I say, they all get the same discount.”
However, Boardman was then pulled aside by a manager who said their system had picked up on the two transactions, and when she came into work at a later date she was taken into the office where she was interviewed about the experience.
