The top 10 dream jobs... and their salaries

What did you want to be when you grew up? Many of us will fondly remember pretending to be an astronaut or a pop star – or others may have had more realistic daydreams like becoming a police officer or a teacher.

Job site Indeed have analysed their data to find 10 jobs that might seem like dream roles for you as an adult, to find out which ones might still be within workers’ grasps.

The jobs they chose tended to fall into broad categories – ones with plenty of outdoor time like a Horticulturist or a Dog Walker, ones focused on hobbies such as fashion (Model, Fashion Buyer) or sport (In-ground Football Correspondent), and some focused on the finer things in life (Sommelier, Food Technologist).

The researchers also found that many applicants are already taking the plunge into a new role that matches their desires, with jobseekers prioritising their own satisfaction, a healthier degree of flexibility and a better work-life balance - many or all of which are key factors in the top 10.
