BA employee who won crucifix case plans to sue airline again

A British Airways (BA) employee who won a ‘landmark’ legal battle to wear a cross to work plans to launch a fresh case against the multi-million-pound airline, the Telegraph reports.

Nadia Eweida, who was sent home for wearing a silver crucifix around her neck, won a claim of religious discrimination against BA in the European Court of Human Rights in 2013.

She was “locked in a highly publicised legal dispute” since falling foul of a new employee clothing policy in 2006 – this sparked rigorous debate but was later rejected by British courts.

The airport check-in worker, who still currently works for BA, alleges that the publicity singled her out for mistreatment when she retuned to work in 2007.
