Job ad slammed for insensitivity after asking for 'OCD' candidates

A job advert for a receptionist has been criticised for its insensitivity towards mental health, after asking for organisation levels comparable to OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder).

According to a report in the Metro, Saks, a beauty salon based in Cheshire, posted the job advert on Indeed asking for their new receptionist to be: “EXTREMELY well organised/(OCD)”.

OCD is a condition which causes frequent intrusive and obsessional thoughts. OCD UK, a charity dedicated to the illness, says it affects as many as 12 in every 1000 people. The job ad read:

“We’re so exciting to be launching this new position of front of house receptionist at Saks Warrington.
