PepsiCo’s Chief Executive, Indra Nooyi, is stepping down from the role after 12 years leading the food company.
The 64-year-old, who pushed for more health-conscious products and expanded the company’s presence internationally, will remain Chairman until early next year.
Since she took over in 1994, revenue has grown to $63.5billion from $35billion in 2006, with PepsiCo’s share prices nearly doubling in that time.
“Growing up in India, I never imagined I’d have the opportunity to lead such an extraordinary company,” Nooyi said in a statement.
