Richest man in modern history slammed for poor treatment of workers

Amazon’s CEO and Founder Jeff Bezos has climbed the ranks from richest man in the world to the richest man in modern history.

This news comes just days after thousands of Amazon workers at European warehouses went on strike over poor working conditions.

Furious workers demanded better working conditions from the U.S. tech giant on the same day that marked Amazon’s Prime Day, an annual event offering customers discount on many online products.

According to Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Bezos’ fortune has now topped $150billion (£1114million) – that’s $55billion ($42billion) richer than Microsoft’s founder, Bill Gates, who has been bumped down to the second richest.
