Microsoft's new tool warns staff to stop sending emails

Microsoft has taken a stance against employee burnout by introducing a new function that discourages workers from sending emails outside of their normal working hours.

According to Computer Weekly, Microsoft unveiled plans for its Microsoft 365 cloud suite, Teams, which has embedded several new functions into its tools to help staff communicate more effectively. So far, over 200,000 businesses currently use Teams at work.

In its new MyAnalytics add-on, businesses can improve productivity whilst reinforcing culture, by sending nudges to employees about tasks they need to set time for and alerting staff when they’re emailing colleagues outside of their normal working hours.

In a blog post, Natalie McCullough, General Manager of Workplace Analytics and MyAnalytics, and Noelle Beaujon, Product Manager for MyAnalytics, wrote about the importance of collaboration tools promoting healthy work life balances.
