No women in BBC's top 10 highest-paid stars list

Match Of The Day host Gary Lineker has been revealed as the BBC’s highest-paid star - and the only male star to dodge company pay cuts.

The former professional footballer, who holds England’s record for goals in the FIFA World Cup Final, was said to receive £1.76million per year, BBC figures have shown.

This surpasses Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans whose £2.2million salary was reduced to £1.66million, which was said to be due to quitting the BBC2 show, Top Gear.

The top earners after Lineker and Evans include Graham Norton (£600,000- £609,000), Steve (£550,000-559,000), Huw Edwards (520,000-529,000) and Jeremy Vine (£400,000- £449,999).
