Forget workforces with World Cup-induced hangovers: employers may be left with little (or no) employees even coming in to work tomorrow morning if England are victorious in tonight’s knock-out game.
New research commissioned by Centropy PR revealed that one in ten Brits plan to ‘pull a sickie’ if England defeat Colombia later today - probably because they plan to celebrate a little too enthusiastically.
Managing your staff during the World Cup
The study quizzed 2,000 members of the public over the weekend about attitudes towards the competition. It found that 45% are set to watch the game from the comfort of their home, seven per cent will catch the game at the pub, and two per cent viewing it from the office.
