Zero-hours worker's victory sparks hope for change

A bar worker on a zero hours contract has won a legal dispute with his employer over last minute shift cancellations – BBC reports.

The worker said that his shifts were cancelled on a number of occasions leaving him unable to find work to replace his lost wages.

"It's not everywhere that treats you badly, but certainly it's not the first bad experience I've had," the worker told the BBC.

"When bosses cancel these shifts at the last minute, is has such a huge effect on your life.
