How many firms are snooping on staff emails, chat & web history?

With legislation like GDPR aiming to reunite individuals with their privacy, amidst fears that our smartphones are listening to our conversations and our social media feeds are potentially pushing a certain political agenda on us, it appears that Big Brother is still watching.

Okay, so it’s not exactly Big Brother who is watching – but your employer might be.

Fast Company reports that employers are most likely monitoring your emails, web history and slack chats at work, according to a survey conducted by Alfresco.

The research received responses across 307 IT professionals who work at U.S. and U.K. companies with over 500 employees, finding that 98% of companies monitor their employees’ digital activity.
