Revelations regarding controversial clauses in Harvey Weinstein’s employment contract should act as a clear lesson to HR on how to manage illegal, or allegedly illegal, employee behaviour.
The disgraced movie mogul had a contract which a lawyer for the plaintiffs in the ongoing case against Weinstein said equated to “The Weinstein Company (TWC) [Weinstein’s employers] and other defendants [knowing] about and endorsing Mr. Weinstein’s conduct.”
Variety magazine added that it “showed the company effectively condoned Weinstein’s behaviour.”

Since October, Harvey Weinstein has faced countless allegations of unlawful, institutionalised sexual behaviour. This week, he pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and rape.
