There’s no denying that social media is now one of the most popular and successful recruitment tools. Everything from LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat is being used by employers and recruiters to draw in a younger slew of candidates.
And the latest industry to jump on the digital bandwagon is security services. The Telegraph reports that the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) are targeting teenage girls via social media in an attempt to recruit less James Bond’s and more Jane Bond’s.
Girls aged 13- to 15-years-old are being put through their paces with competitions which are remotely accessible at school. Spy Chiefs hope the initiative, called CyberFirst, will be a huge recruitment success.
“The CyberFirst Girls Competition allows teams of young women a glimpse of this exciting world and provides a great opportunity to use new skills,” GCHQ Director, Robert Hannigan, told The Telegraph.
