The supermarket giant Lidl has been given government approval to build a new Head Office in London, having secured an investment of £70million.
Reuters reports that Lidl has been granted permission for the new HQ by the Royal Borough of Kingston's planning committee. The plans supposedly showcase the business's appetite for investing and expanding in the UK, suggesting that Brexit did not diminish Lidl's ties with Britain.
The plans now have to be given final permission by the city's Mayoral Office.
"We hope to receive the Mayor of London's feedback and to progress with the plans early in the new year," explained Ingo Fischer, Lidl UK Director for Expansion and Development.
