UK's happiest employee revealed

The UK’s happiest employee has reportedly been found, following a nomination competition to find the most jubilant workplace.

Rob Smith, an employee at an Outward Bound centre in Aberdyfi, Wales, took the top title during the Laughology Awards. According to Cambrian News, Smith was described as an “inspiration to all he meets whose positivity knows no limits”.

The Outward Bound Trust won the Happiest Workplace Award at the Laughology Happiness Awards 2016. Head of the centre, Al Crisp, said of the honour: “There were over 120 nominations for the Happiest Business/Organisation and hundreds for the Happiest Employee, and we won in both categories.

“The award for the happiest employee was about recognising someone who makes the work place a better place to be, and who brings a really positive attitude to everything, so I can’t think of a better winner than Rob Smith! So very well deserved!”

Smith himself commented, saying: “It means a huge amount to win.

“The Outward Bound is such a great place to work, and the job I do is about inspiring young people and giving them opportunities to do things they have never done before."
