Most of us will be looking forward to a bit of time off over Christmas, however, spare a thought for those who will continue to graft.
Nearly half (44%) of UK professionals will be working over the festive period, with 70.6% thinking that office-based businesses should be closed, according to research from CV-Library.
The research, which surveyed over 1,100 UK workers, asked employees what the best things about working over the festive period were. 38.3% enjoyed a more relaxed working environment, 29.3% benefitted from Christmas bonuses and 24% merry movers appreciated Christmas tunes being played in the workplace.
In contrast, 76.1% said missing out on time with family was the worst facet about working over Christmas. Just over a quarter said there wasn’t much to do as it was quiet, 19.3% were tired of working longer hours and 18.6% were fed up with irritable/stressed customers and clients.
