One in six employees in the UK are secretly dreading their work Christmas party, according to a new report.
The survey, conducted by indoor go-karting company TeamSport, surveyed over 1,000 UK workers, and found that staff are willing to lie in order to avoid their office party.
20% of female employees admitted they would tell a little white lie to escape the shindig, compared to 16% of men.
And whilst 24% of those asked claimed that they thought their Christmas party was a great way of socialising with colleagues, many are filled with dread at the thought of their colleagues embarrassing themselves with excess alcohol.
