Corona Founder did not leave money to us, villagers claim

The Founder of Corona has not actually left the villagers of his home town money – The Independent reports.

Earlier this week, there was a report circulating that Antonino Fernandez, the billionaire founder of the brewery, had left the citizens of Cerezales del Condado a couple of million pounds each. However, the villagers have now spoken out refuting the claims.

Lucia Alaejos from the Fundación Cerezales Antonino y Cinia – a cultural centre in the villages, said: “It’s simply not true, unfortunately. It seems someone got the wrong end of the stick and the story has just grown and grown. It’s got completely out of hand.”

However, Fernandez did invest a lot of money into the town itself, paying for churches, institutions and cultural site.
