Kwik Fit staff 'weep' as they're told over tannoy they'll lose jobs

Weeks before Christmas, employees at Kwik-Fit Insurance Services were left “in tears” after their boss announced over the tannoy that hundreds of them would be losing their jobs,  - The Mirror reports. 

521 staff at the Kwik-Fit Insurance Services call centre in Uddingston were told the news via microphone, as the Mirror reports that many workers were left in “a stunned silence.”

Director Ant Middle told the employees that they would be “under consultation” over Christmas, and that the call centre would be shut down in March.

Belgium-based Ageas, which owns the firm, claims that Kwik Fit has been "under pressure for some time", following changes in how customers now buy their insurance.
