Compared to any other profession, engineering and IT workers are much happier with their work-life balance.
According to the latest survey from salary-benchmarking site Emolument.com, 42% of HR professionals report that their work-life balance is awful. Below them on the list are consultants, with almost half (49%) reporting their balance as awful as opposed to satisfactory or great.
71% of engineers and software developers consider it to be either great or satisfactory, with marketers following closely behind at 67%.
The survey also looked in closer detail at finance jobs, and found an impressive 81% of fund managers find their work-life balance either great or satisfactory. However, those working in the middle and back office or in organisation/advisory posts don’t agree, with 42% and 53% respectively reporting their balance is awful.
