The current pay gap between men and women in the UK is 13.9%.
The Equal Pay Act was passed 46 years ago, which declared it is illegal to value women’s salaries less than men’s for the same role.
Despite strides in progress, there is still a constant circulation of literature surrounding gender equality.
Today marks Equal Pay Day, which falls one day later in comparison to last year – meaning that slight improvements have been made. The date marks the day women effectively stop earning in comparison to men.
