Live streaming offers a new option in learning

Live learning and on-demand content continue to flourish in the L&D industry. The great advantage of on-demand resources (and recorded webinars) is that you can view them at any time. This is fine if you just want to be taught new knowledge or information. But what if you want to interact with the presenter or ask a question?

Webinars offer access to ‘live learning’, without the cost and inconvenience of bringing the participants physically together. But now there’s a new option which takes this concept even further: live streaming. This means delivering easily-consumable bites of learning in short, focused, expert-led sessions.

Learning specialist Hemsley Fraser, which has a reputation for investing in new learning content and delivery approaches, is launching 24 short, Livestream learning sessions, each of which will be delivered by an expert trainer. The sessions will cover key topics for business professionals such as influencing, interpersonal skills, project management, creativity, assertiveness, resilience, negotiation, presentations, personal impact, managing upwards, motivation, feedback, communication, networking, time management, positivity and managing pressure.

Hemsley Fraser is developing a schedule in which the 20-minute sessions will be streamed on set days at 8.15am and afterwards the participants will have exclusive live Q&A time with the subject expert. The sessions will then be available online for on-demand access.

Individuals subscribe for 12 months and they can attend all of the live streamed sessions as well as access the past recorded sessions, to view in their own time. The programme participants can count these sessions towards their own personal development.

“We all know the value of self-development but, with competing priorities, it can be difficult to dedicate the time for this,” said Daniel Morgan, Head of Marketing at Hemsley Fraser. “With live streaming, we can combine some of the interaction benefits of face-to-face training with the accessibility of on-demand learning. This isn’t a ‘one-way’ transfer of knowledge. Using our expertise and reputation for soft skills development, we’re introducing focused, trainer-led sessions that offer interactivity with a subject expert as well as feedback from the other participants. Running these sessions live creates a sense of urgency around each topic which encourages people to attend and participate. This creates greater engagement with the subject and it brings the learning alive ‘in the moment’.”

The new 20-minute Livestream learning sessions will be launched early in 2017. Click below to register your interest
