Uber tells drivers that tribunal case does not apply to them

Uber has reportedly told its workforce that Friday’s employment tribunal decision which ruled that drivers are entitled to basic working rights only affects two employees.

The Guardian reported that the landmark case found that drivers at the app-based taxi company can claim holiday pay and the National Living Wage, as the result of a legal challenge by two of its workers.

However, the GMB union claims Uber sent an email its drivers following the decision to say the ruling did not apply to them.

The email reads: "As you may be aware, earlier this year a small number of London partner-drivers brought a claim to challenge their self-employed status with Uber.
