Employees at Crown Postal Offices across the UK are striking in protest over job cuts, privatisation, and deductions to pensions – the BBC reports.
Thousands of employees are set to walk out today for the second time in just two months – with The Guardian stating that further action towards Christmas has not been ruled out entirely.
The unions are striking due to the franchising of Crown Post Offices, which are the larger branches found on high streets. However, a press release from The Post Office assured the public that most of their network would not be affected.
Communication Workers Union General Secretary Dave Ward comments on the issue: "The stakes have never been higher for the future of the Post Office, its workers, and the communities they serve.
