Facebook paid £4.2million in taxes last year, yet rewarded its British staff a total of £165million.
According to the latest company accounts, turnover at Facebook UK doubled in 2015 to £210million, but this did not include the hundreds of millions of pounds in sales income from British advertisers, the group is estimated to have received - The Guardian reports.
Losses for Facebook UK increased from £28.5million to £52.5million in 2015, resulting in the company generating an £11.3million tax credit last year - the social media giant reported a global profit of £4.97billion.
Facebook reported a tax charge of £4.2million last year, including £15.5million of delayed tax credits, linked to staff share awards - employees received £71million in share awards, and took home an average of £242,000 each in 2015.
