Tim Cook: 5 traits Apple looks for in new hires

To be selected for a coveted role at tech giant Apple, going against the grain and aiming to make the world a better place is one way to attract the CEO’s attention.

Steve Jobs’ predecessor, Tim Cook, took part in a rare question-and-answer session as part of the Utah Tech Tour, answering questions from the audience and Republican Senator, Orrin Hatch – CNBC reports.

He shared the five characteristics Apple looks for in new hires:

1. Brilliance. "We look for wicked smart people," said Cook. But being smart really isn't enough. "Put that aside for a second. There are a lot of wicked smart people."
