Were the FA right to get rid of Sam Allardyce?

Last night, Sam Allardyce left his job as England Manager by mutual consent after he was caught telling undercover reporters how to bypass rules on player transfers and slamming his predecessor Roy Hodgson and his assistant Gary Neville.

While, technically, Allardyce did nothing wrong, he did damage the reputation of his employer – the English Football Association (FA).

He called his actions a “silly thing to do” and “an error of judgement on my behalf.”

He adds: “I've paid the consequences. Entrapment has won on this occasion and I have to accept that.”
