We’ve all been in boring, stale meetings where the energy levels are low, the agenda is painstakingly long, and productivity is on the floor.
At Prova PR, they’ve ridded themselves of such meetings and improved health and wellbeing by switching the Boardroom for the streets. It is hoped that the outdoor environment, as well as the light exercise of walking, will inspire new ideas and leave the team more energised and alert.
Speaking to HR Grapevine, Sarah Hawkins, Head of HR at Prova PR, explains their choice: “Studies show that taking short breaks throughout the day enables people to do their jobs better. Walking and talking puts staff at ease, encourages relationship building and strengthens team spirit.
“The feedback has been fantastic and so we’re now rolling it out across all teams. Avoiding noisy locations, thinking about the plot and length of the route, and ensuring that the walking group is a manageable size are all important for successful sessions.”
