CEO gives staff £1,500 annually to go on holiday

Using the full amount of annual leave available is key to achieving a healthy work-life balance.

However, one CEO seems to have found the answer for inspiring and incentivising his staff body to take their full allowance of annual leave. He gives each employee $2,000 (£1,500) every year to spend on their annual leave.

Mark Douglas, CEO of marketing and advertising company SteelHouse, explains in an interview with Business Insider how his company gives workers the money each year to go anywhere they like in the world.

“If you have a caged lion that was born in captivity, and then you open the cage, they back up more into the cage. They don't start running free,” Douglas says.
