Why did Irish employees wear wedding dresses to work?

Employees across Ireland wore their wedding dresses to work in a bid to raise money for the Irish Cancer Society earlier this week.

Many of the staff have shared pictures of themselves in their gowns on social media, alongside the hashtag #WeddingDressWednesday.

According to The Telegraph, the campaign was launched by Today FM, an Irish radio station, as part of its new Dare to Care programme.

The radio station encouraged people to do as much as they can for the charity in a press release, obtained by The Telegraph.
