Women feeling pressure to be 'sexier' at work as it's 'better for business'

86% of female employees feel pressured to appear ‘sexier’ at work, according to a survey of 2,000 UK employees by Slater and Gordon.

28% had been told by their bosses that changing their appearance would be ‘better for business’.

Eight percent were told to wear make-up so that they ‘looked prettier’, and seven per cent said they were told to wear heels - either in the office or to visit clients, to make them ‘more appealing’.

Just under a tenth said they had been told-off regarding their appearance in front of co-workers.
