Over 80% of businesses believe they have provided some form of development activity for staff in the last year.
However, over a third of workers said they did not receive this support, research conducted by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education suggests.
A disparity between what employers think they are offering and what members of staff believe they are receiving indicates a lurking ambiguity in learning and development.
