Almost one in ten Britons have considered taking up their hobby as a full time job.
The top hobbies Brits considered taking up as a career included personal trainer (65%), photographer (48%), writing (37%), fashion and styling (33%), and cooking and hospitality (30%).
Three per cent of the population, (approximately 1,569,786) actually pursued and built a career from their hobby, according to the Hobbies, Dreams and Jobs Report, carried out by Be A Better You – Training. Those most willing to take risks and embark on a new endeavour were young women aged 25–34.
Reasons holding Brits back are financial insecurity (65%), lack of job security (54%) and almost half (47%) were deterred by social pressures from friends and family.
