Serge Taborin, Aviva’s Innovation & New Business Director, speaks about the importance of cultural innovation in aiding digital transformation.
Why is digital innovation so important in today’s economy?
Our customers are increasingly choosing digital channels as their preferred way of engaging with us. Digital innovation is a key part of making this happen, enabling new services and more engaging customer experiences.
Digital is how Aviva will capitalise on being a true customer composite - providing customers with all their insurance needs, across life insurance, general insurance, health insurance and asset management.
How large a part does cultural innovation play in digital transformation?
They go hand in hand – cultural innovation is the necessary condition for driving the digital transformation. Thinking digital first, rapid testing and learning, becoming more agile in the way we work are all enablers of the transformation taking place within Aviva.
What are the main aims and hopes of this partnership Silicon Valley start-up Plug and Play?
The first main objective is to establish Aviva’s presence in the US West Coast start-up scene and opening up another important channel for early identification of high-potential concepts, technologies and talent. The second is accelerating Aviva’s cultural transformation, enabling our staff to spend time in the Silicon Valley and gain greater understanding of new technologies and ways of working.
