Amazon is piloting a four-day working week to experiment how teams working 30-hours every week would benefit.
The program will see entire technical teams, including managers, work for 30 hours a week alongside those working the traditional 40-hour week.
The 30-hour employees will receive the same benefits as 40-hour employees, but will only receive 75% of the salary that full-time workers earn.
The pilot program will be carried out on a few dozen employees at present. They will work from Monday to Thursday. Their working hours will be 10am to 2pm, with additional flexible hours and the option to work full-time - The Independent reports.
