EXCLUSIVE: Jacqueline O'Donovan, star of The Job Interview, shares her hiring tips

Jacqueline O’Donovan, Managing Director of O’Donovan Waste Disposal, who recently appeared on Channel 4’s ‘The Job Interview’, spoke to Executive Grapevine about hiring the right talent to fit company culture.

She advises that, before advertising for a position, think about the values, attitudes and personality that work for your company the most: “Someone who hits all the right notes on paper might lack passion and drive in person - it is all about finding a balance.”

It’s not all about the talent

“When you are looking through a mountain of CVs, it is easy to go with the person who already has the experience, but sometimes it can be more beneficial to go with the one who has the most potential. I always try to identify traits such as hard working and willingness to learn in applications and I am more inclined to give them a go, even if they have slightly less experience than another candidate.”
