Thousands of soon-to-be redundant BHS workers have been given a slight reprieve, with administrators announcing they will delay the closure of the 57 remaining stores.
The chain was preparing to close the remaining stores nationwide for good on Saturday, but Duff & Phelps and FRP Advisory have now extended the closing date to 28 August – delaying the redundancies of the remaining workers.
The administrators revealed the stores could even remain open longer, in a last-ditch effort to maximise results by selling remaining stock – the BBC reports.
106 BHS stores have already closed across the country, including the brand’s flagship Oxford Street store.
