Following a report released about the shocking regularity of sexual harassment occurrences in British workplaces, prominent HR professionals are voicing their opinions on how to tackle the issue.
The collaborative report from the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and the Everyday Sexism Project has found that everything from suggestive remarks, jokes about a colleague’s sex life, circulating pornography, inappropriate touching, hugging or kissing, demands for sexual favours, and sexual harassment in the workplace is still rife.
The study - titled ‘Still just a bit of banter?’ - asked 1,533 people about workplace harassment, the Huffington Post UK reports.
A total of 52% of women overall, and 63% of women aged 18- to 24-years-old, said they have experienced sexual harassment at work.
