Worker stole nearly £70,000 from employer as 'revenge' for long hours

Jordan Rowlands has been jailed for six months after stealing £69,137 from 90s bar Retro over the course of 19 months (March 2014 to October 2015) as “revenge” for working long hours – the Daily Mirror reports.

On busy nights he would issue false refunds and take it for himself. He was caught when a Manager noticed a discrepancy in the total between the 2am cash out and then two hours later – according to Wales Online.

The subsequent internal investigation resulted in Rowlands admitting what he had done.

Leah Pollard, who represented Rowlands, told Cardiff Crown Court that Rowlands was a carer for his mother, and had been diagnosed with depression and anxiety shortly before his thefts were uncovered.
