Nearly two-thirds of British women have been sexually harassed at work

Britain’s women are being left “ashamed and frightened”; with nearly two-thirds reporting they have been sexually harassed at work.

A collaborative report from the Trades Union Congress (TUC) and the Everyday Sexism Project has found that everything from suggestive remarks, jokes about a colleague’s sex life, circulating pornography, inappropriate touching, hugging or kissing, demands for sexual favours, and sexual harassment in the workplace is still rife.

The study - titled ‘Still just a bit of banter?’ - asked 1,533 people about workplace harassment, the Huffington Post UK reports.

A total of 52% of women overall, and 63% of women aged 18- to 24-years-old, said they have experienced sexual harassment at work.
