Why the office romance is dying

Nine out of ten employees admit to having a work crush – but are too scared to act on it.

According to research by law firm Protecting.co.uk, the majority of those in the office who have caught feelings for a co-worker claim they were too cautious to declare their love, fearing that their advances may be misconstrued.

Afraid to kindle an office romance, 61% of respondents were worried about violating harassment policies and 46% were just too shy.

31% of employees feared rejection and 18% didn’t want an office 'scandal' to affect their promotion prospects. 16% didn’t want to mix work and romance, and 11% said their workplace has a ‘no relationships’ policy.
