Byron Burgers staff feel 'betrayed' by Home Office sting

Staff at Byron Burgers have said they feel “betrayed” by the Home Office sting that took place earlier this month.

Dozens of workers at a London-based Byron Burgers restaurant were arrested by the Home Office, who confirmed that people of Brazilian, Nepalese, Egyptian and Albanian nationality have been arrested – Spanish newspaper El Iberico reported.

The Guardian spoke to staff at the restaurant chain, and all did so under the condition of anonymity.

The reason for this feeling of deceitfulness is that they were asked to arrange the training meeting under false pretences.
